Hidden

As dusk fell on his mind, he stopped to regain himself.
He could see only darkness looming, pulling him closer.
He had experienced this and knew well its icy presence.
A chill surrounded him as he tensed to fight its grasp.
He closed his eyes but the memory was alive, racing to be free.
Amid the senses in his head, new energy hummed without pattern.
Hiding in the seclusion of shadows, there stood an end;
In the distance, highlighted by sparse, lifeless light.
His mind wondered, "Where will I be headed after here?"
"Further, can I escape this maze in which I am hidden?"
